Fender 1966 Dual Showman Amplifier Chassis No. 05389, stenciled "Plastic Ono Band and Elephant's Memory" to upper surface. In flight case, with certificate of authenticity from Mr. Gary Van Scyoc, the bass player for the Plastic Ono Band and Elephant's Memory at that time. Together with a VHS tape of John Lennon Live in New York City (1986). Lennon and the Plastic Ono Band and Elephant's Memory performed twice on August 30, 1972, the first in an afternoon performance and later in the evening, both concerts organized for a charity event. Both performances were recorded, and the album Live in New York City was released posthumously in 1986. The concerts documented on Live in New York City were Lennon's only rehearsed and full-length live performances in his solo career, and his first—and last—formal, full-fledged live concerts since the Beatles retired from the road in 1966. Lennon never mounted a tour during his post-Beatles career. The concerts also marked the last time he performed live with Ono or with Elephant's Memory. Van Scyoc's letter declares that this particular amp was used during the August 30, 1972 "John Lennon Live in New York City" Madison Square Garden concert (and the subsequent live recording release), "as well as in numerous recording sessions for John Lennon Yoko Ono and Elephant's Memory during the period between 1972 and 1974."
