A group of snuff and cigarette cases, various origins and dates, comprising three silver cigarette cases, the first decorated in matt gunmetal enamel, the lid applied with a princely crown, maker's mark AxK, Vienna, circa 1925, rim numbered 8297, 8.5cm., 3 3/8 in. wide; the second, plain rectangular, Carl Heiss, Vienna, circa 1917, applied with an enamelled coat-of-arms under a ducal coronet, the inside dated Wels, Herbst 1917, and signed; the third, Carl Heiss, Vienna, circa 1920, smartly decorated in coloured gold and black and red enamel, onyx thumbpiece; a plain simulated tortoiseshell example applied with a jewelled rabbit’s head, a mother-of-pearl example in 18th century taste with engraved and foiled rocaille ornament; and an oval German black glass portrait gold-mounted snuff box, the lid inset with a miniature of a girl, circa 1795, Austrian School Quantity: 6
