A group of six Islamic 'Seljuq' period gold and hardstone rings Comprising: one with truncated bezel set with an oval black onyx intaglio engraved in Kufic scrip, Ahmad Musa (Moses) the gold four claw mount with strapwork style decoration; another with box shaped bevelled bezel set with a rectangular cornelian intaglio engraved in Kufic script Yusef Ibn al Hassen , the mount with granulated beadwork decoration with articulated rings on each side and stud shoulders and granulated hoop, possibly Syrian ; another with oval closed-set rock crystal the reverse engraved in Kufic script, in crimped bezel and engraved with repeated scroll and zig zag patterns to the shoulders; another with oval cornelian intaglio engraved with a trefoil among stylised palm fronds, in four claw mount, the sides decorated with zoomorphic motifs to a plain hoop; another with rectangular cornelian engraved in Kufic script the triangular shoulders each engraved with a medallion depicting a bird; the last set with a domed banded agate with raised and engraved bezel and pierced scrolling shoulders, 13th century (6)
