A GROUP OF PEUCETIAN AND DAUNIAN POTTERY VESSELS 6TH-5TH CENTURY B.C. Comprising a trefoil-lipped oinochoe decorated in red and dark brown stripes and bands, two crossed and dotted lozenges on the neck, a cross on the base; a jug of biconical form with knobbed thumb-rest on the strap handle, dark brown bands and zigzag frieze, the lower body with linear motif and central meander; a Daunian pottery jar with high strap handle, thick red and brown bands, hatched and infilled lozenges on the handle front, the middle body 'metope' with frieze of hatched lozenges flanked by two double triangles, arcs about the foot; a jar with brown bands, wavy line around the neck and crossed staff on the handle, glaze worn, handle repaired; a jug with 'horned' strap handle, bands and dotted frieze on the shoulder; a squat jug with two applied 'eyes' at apex of the ribbed handle, red and brown bands, wavy lines, arcs and 'metopes' with concentric lozenges and 'M' motifs; and another with thick bold red and brown encircling bands, all 6th-5th Century B.C. 7¾ to 4¼ in.
