A Gorham sterling silver gentleman's dresser set Print Circa 1911-1912, Providence, RI and San Francisco, CA, a collection of engraved sterling silver gentleman's articles, 12 Gorham and 1 Shreve & Co., each with maker's marks and further marked ''Sterling'', the Gorham pieces comprising: a sterling silver-lidded cut glass powder jar, the jar with maker's mark ''Hawkes'', the lid marked ''587D'' (3.25'' H x 3.875'' W x 3.875'' D); a hand mirror with beveled-edge plate (10.125'' H x 5'' W x .375'' D); a nail buffer with caddy, marked ''3450B'' and ''3457B'' respectively (overall: 2.25'' H x 8'' W x 3'' D); a hair brush marked ''1952C'' (8.75'' H x 2.875'' W x 1.5'' D); a garment brush marked ''1956C'' (1.75'' H x 6.5'' W x 2'' D); a hat brush marked ''1960C'' (6.75'' H x 3.5'' W x .875'' D); a tray marked ''3452B'' (.375'' H x 6.125'' W x 3'' D); a weighted bud vase marked ''1321A'' (7.125'' H x 2.375'' Dia.); nail scissors marked ''517B'' and ''Germany'' (4.125'' H x 1.875'' W x .25'' H); a nail file marked ''3448B'' (7.25'' H x .625'' W x .5'' D); a cuticle pusher marked ''3447B'' (4.875'' H x .625'' W x .5'' D); and a button hook marked ''772B'' (8.125'' H x .875'' W x .625'' D), together with a Shreve & Co. sterling silver decanter caddy marked ''5126'' and two cut glass decanters (overall: 6.5'' H x 6.25'' W x 2.5'' D), all but the nail scissors monogrammed ''SLM'', 13 pieces, Provenance: Private Collection, Pasadena, CA. Condition: Overall good condition. General light marks, scratches, dings and tarnishing commensurate with age and use. Cut glass articles with scattered scratches, nicks and chips; the largest a shallow .625'' x .375'' chip to body of one decanter. One end of fitted lip of powder jar lid pushed in; lid sits slightly askew. Hand mirror with handle bent slightly backward and scattered areas of degradation to plate silvering primarily concentrated to edges. Clothing brush with scattered dings around edges. Nail buffer with wear, repairs and damages to buffing surface, including a 1'' x 1.625'' tear revealing filling. Nail scissors with scattered dents to handles; the largest approximately .75'' x .125''. Nail file and cuticle pusher with spots of rust to blades; the cuticle pusher with blade separating from handle and old glue evident. Monogrammed, as stated.
