Beschreibung:

A good George IV sterling silver teapot, London 1821 by Phillip Rundell (reg. 4th March 1819) Of rounded circular form with an everted upper section, all upon a circular foot with fluted edge. The curved spout with an acanthus leaf underside and embossed anthemia to the top section, opposite a wooden C scroll handle pinned to sockets, the upper one formed as a cast Grecian revival maiden’s head. The gently domed hinged lid with fluted centre surmounted by a detachable wooden knop finial. The body with half-fluted decoration below a border of alternating anthemia and scallop shells. The everted section with a border of pellets and swags. Fully marked underneath, part-marked to the lid. Length – 26.8 cm / 10.55 inches Weight – 893 grams / 28.71 ozt
