Clothbound October 1938 edition with ownership signature "Mrs. Harry L. Crane" to frontispiece, with loose front cover of dust jacket tucked inside. Actor Fred Crane, who played one of the Tarleton Twins (and is notable for being in the first scene of the film) gifted this signed volume to his mother. All the major players of the film have signed the book, including Clark Gable, Vivien Leigh, Leslie Howard, Olivia de Havilland, Evelyn Keyes, Ann Rutherford, Rand Brooks, Hattie McDaniel, Butterfly McQueen, Cammie King, costume designer Walter Plunkett, dialogue instructor Susan Myrick, makeup artists Monty Westmore and Ben Nye, assistant director Eric G. Stacey, and more. Additionally, a message to his mother has been affectionately inscribed by Crane on the back page: "And from your loving son, Frederic Crane, who credits any an [sic] all his success to her foresight and courage to keep a recalcitrant son's nose to the grindstone. / I know that my efforts would have been nil with out [sic] you." 5.75 x 8.75 x 1.75 in.
