A GILT-METAL-MOUNTED AND MALACHITE-VENEERED BABY GRAND PIANO BY STEINWAY & SONS, NEW YORK, MODEL 'S' SERIAL NUMBER '289161', CIRCA 1937, LATER MALACHITE-VENEERED AND MOUNTED The bombé hinged lid with fold-over front above serpentine-shaped sides mounted with a musical trophy of swans supporting a lyre to the back and sides, the velvet music rest similarly decorated, above ivory keys, on square tapering legs and spade feet with pedal support, the movement with serial number and various patent stamps, together with a matching piano seat 66½ in. (169 cm.) high open; 38½ in. (98 cm.) high closed; 56 in. (142 cm.) wide; 59½ in. (151 cm.) deep
