A gilt-bronze mounted Kakiemon pot pourri vase and cover by Escalier de Cristal, Paris, the mounts 19th century, the porcelain Japanese late 17th century of square form the cover with four holes and a berried foliate finial, with a guilloche cast neck, the angles with a scrolled corbel above entwined berried laurel, on a stepped square base cast with friezes, on bracket feet, the porcelain decorated in Kakiemon colours with rockwork, flowering branches and a seated figure, stamped 'Escalier de Cristal Paris' to the gilt-bronze underneath25.5cm. high; 10in.Condition reportIn overall good condition. The gilt-bronze with minor tarnishing and some minor signs of oxidization in places. The porcelain generally with old marks and scratches consistent with age and use. The cover with one hairline crack near one hole. One side with a small black spot probably from the time of firing. The lower right of this same side with some residues of glue from an old label, this could benefit from being cleaned with warm water. The corner not too far from there with one small chip to the edge and some blue coloration, Not examined under UV light. "
