A GERMAN PASTE-SET AND ENAMELLED GOLD PRESENTATION SNUFF-BOX by Carl Martin Weishaupt & Söhne, marked with a '14' for 14ct. gold above, with the Hanau town mark, circa 1860, struck with inventory numbers '2676' and '1347' and two other marks Cartouche-shaped box, the lid, wavy baluster sides and base engraved, cast and stamped with foliate scrolls and flowers partly enamelled in opaque blue, the cover set with a raised sablé panel stamped with reeded scrolls, foliage and flowers and centred with a blue enamel tondo applied with the vari-colour enamelled arms of the Hanse -towns of Bremen, Lübeck and Hamburg surmounted by gold and enamelled heraldic trophies, within a paste surround, the left and right hand sides flanked by a total of six large paste stones in silver mounts, foliate wavy thumbpiece 37/8 in.
