A German enamelled Roemer and Cover Hessen or Kassel, dated 1677 of green tint, the deep ovoid bowl painted with a portrait of St.James with his attributes, an arched ribbon above, inscribed Save teum [?] ecclesiam Catholicam sanctorum Com. i. nio (?) nuw, the sides inscribed S.IACOBUS MINOR 1677 DER 9, the reverse with flowers, all above a cylindrical lower section applied with three rows of raspberry prunts, over a later replacement spun foot, the domed cover with floral band below a double knop Quantity: 2 24.5cm., 9 5/8 in.
