A GEORGE IV MAHOGANY BREAKFRONT BOOKCASE by James Winter & Sons, the moulded cornice above four glazed doors with arched moulding, the conforming outset base with four drawers to the centre flanked by matching short drawers, on short lobed fluted feet. 59cm deep, 241cm long, 221cm high Provenance: The Smales family, Carrmount, Sleights, Whitby. The Smales family were well known shipbuilders in Whitby from the early 19th century, the firm closing in 1946.
