(Silver & Objects of Vertu, 25th March 2020) A George III sterling silver mustard pot, London 1765 by Charles Chesterman I (reg. 2nd Oct 1752) A George III sterling silver mustard pot, London 1765 by Charles Chesterman I (reg. 2nd Oct 1752) Of cylindrical drum form with moulded rim, a C scroll handle leading to a domed lid raised by a simple indented thumbpiece, with an aperture cut at a right angle to the handle. Engraved to the front with later initials RH in cursive script. With a removable blue glass liner. Fully marked to base. Together with an Old English with Shoulders pattern condiment spoon, makers mark only D.S. Also to include a George II pair of salt, London 1756 by David Hennell with shell knees, engraved the same and with matched liners. (4) Mustard pot length – 9 cm / 3.5 inches Weight – 313 grams / 10.06 ozt The RH is for Robert Haladane (1764-1842), thence by descent
