A GEORGE III SILVER SALVER AND TWO PAIRS OF WAITERS EN SUITE MARK OF JOHN CROUCH AND THOMAS HANNAM, LONDON, 1792 Each oval on four pad feet, with reeded border, bright-cut with bands of florets and anthemions around a central coat-of-arms within ribbon-tied foliate festoons, the waiters in two sizes, each marked underneath the salver 21 ½ in. (54.6 cm.) wide, the waiters 9 ¾ in. (24.7 cm.) wide and smaller 128 oz. 16 dwt. (4,007 gr.) The arms are those of Welby impaling Spry quartering another for Sir William Earle Welby, 2nd Bt. (1768-1852) and his wife Wilhelmina (d.1847), daughter and heir of William Spry Governor of Barbados and his wife Katherine Cholmeley, whom he married in 1792.
