A George III rose gold and enamel gentleman's mourning ring the rounded rectangular head swivelling to show plaited hair to one side, the reverse enamelled with the inscription 'George Mackenzie Simpson Died 22 Jan. 1809 Aged 2 Yrs. 4 Mhs.', over pierced foliate shoulders with scalloped top edge, unmarked, in (possibly) the original silk and morocco ring box for 'Nicholson Jeweller 53 Cornhill'.
