A GEORGE III ORMOLU-MOUNTED KINGWOOD, AMARANTH, MAHOGANY AND MARQUETRY COMMODE ATTRIBUTED TO PIERRE LANGLOIS, CIRCA 1750 The serpentine shaped top with a central brass-inlaid musical trophy surrounded by scrolling flowers and vines, above two drawers with mask escutcheons and flanked by warrior term figure chutes with the cabriole legs terminating in ormolu paw sabots, the later locks stamped 'SECURE LEVER', restorations to the veneers, the mounts regilt, central mount to apron lacking, the reverse and underside blackened 33½ in. (85 cm.) high, 48 in. (122 cm.) wide, 24¼ in. (61.5 cm.) deep
