A George II Irish mahogany console table, circa 1750, the breche violette marble top with moulded edge above the trellis incised and acanthus carved shaped frieze centred by an eagle depicted with its wings spread, each tapering cabriole shaped leg carved with trailing acanthus and surmounted by a shell terminal, a further carved shell terminal to each side frieze, on stylised carved lion paw feet, 81cm high, 90cm wide, 50cm deep For closely related examples of table, see The Kinight of Glin and James Peill, Irish Furniture, Yale University Press, 2007, page 232, plates 111 and 112.
