BRUNNER, MID-19TH CENTURY
A French lacquered-brass dip circle Brunner, mid-19th century signed on the horizontal circle Brunner à Paris , the needle carriage with agate suspension, mounted on its axis with an upper and lower arm carrying the twin mirrors and magnifiers, enclosed in a glazed mahogany casing with upper inspection apperture and lock to door, raised on the limb over the 7-inch diameter horizontal circle, with finely divided silvered scale and two verniers, with tangent-screw fine adjustment and clamp, the limb with graduated cross-bubble, the vertical support with 5-inch vertical circle, with similar finely divided scales and twin verniers, tangent-screw fine adjustment and clamp, the axis and bubble level mounting with turn-key fine adjustment, the horizontal circle raised on a pillar support and tripod stand with three adjustable screw feet; mounted on an oak base board with screwdrivers, horn-framed magnifier, two turn-keys, seperate horiztonal fitting for dip-needle; in the original walnut carrying case with iron handle, containing two fitted cases one with original dip needle, one case inscribed in ink Haut the other Devant 17½in. (45cm.) high in case
