A French brass, patinated brass and marmo nero Belgio striking eight day novelty clock in the form of a steam hammer with moving hammer and twin-light candelabra Guilmet & Japy Frères, Paris. Circa 1890 The dial applied with Roman chapters, with replaced silvered metal engineer figure to the side, the hammer rising and falling as part of the compound pendulum for the twin barrels movement with strike on bell, stamped GLT/PARIS and for JAPY FRÈRES and numbered 487 ; the candelabra side pieces in the form of roller presses The clock -- 17½ in. (44.5 cm.) high; the side pieces -- 10 in. (25.5 cm.) high (3)
