A FINE GEORGE III GOLD-MOUNTED ORANGE AGATE NÉCESSAIRE of rectangular upright form with redstone pushpiece, the cagework panels chased with birds and a hound enclosed in flowers and scrolls, the hinged cover enamelled in gilt letters on a white ground 'Ceci est rien l'amitie est tout ', the mirrored interior complete with fitments including two glass scent-bottles with engraved gold caps, gold snuff-spoon, gold-mounted folding knife and pencil, with combined steel tweezers and file and two-leaf ivory slip, circa 1765, in the manner of John Barbot 5.9cm. high
