A fine French ormolu-mounted, Japanese lacquer, polished-steel, bois satine and ebonised table de dame In the Louis XVI Style, After the model by Adam Weisweiler By Alfred Beurdeley, Paris, Circa 1880 The rectangular top with rounded corners, with a finely-cast three-quarter gallery, inset with three fine quality 17th century Japanese lacquer panels within a gold lacquered ground, the hinged central panel opening to reveal a mirror with a chequer-parquetry and dot-matrix-inlaid interior, above a frieze inset with ormolu-outlined panels, the central panel with a pair of winged sphinx amongst scrolls and flanked to each side by panels of ribbon-tied foliate and fruit swags, the back decorated to match, the sides each with a ribbon-tied foliate and fruit swag panel, inset with a small drawer to the right- hand side and a long drawer to the left, with concealed lock and quatrefoil-shaped lock stem and key, each inlaid to the interior and outer drawer edges with a trellis marquetry and dot-matrix pattern, the underside of the carcass stamped A. BEURDELEY/A PARIS , on four finely-cast basket-bearing caryatid monopodiae with tapering uprights, joined by a pierced shaped stretcher, with central basket, on spiral fluted legs and turned feet; and with original silvered quatrefoil-shaped key 32½ in. (82.5 cm.) wide; 29 in. (74 cm.) high; 18 in. (46cm.) deep
