A FINE FRENCH ORMOLU AND SEVRES PORCELAIN-MOUNTED MAHOGANY AND SATINWOOD SECRETAIRE A ABBATANT BY KRIEGER, PARIS, LATE 19TH CENTURY The rectangular Swedish Green marble top with three-quarter arch-cut gallery, above a paterae entrelac-filled frieze fronted by a drawer, above a trellis parquetry fall-front centred with a porcelain-roundel finely painted with a flower filled vase and marked to the reverse 'SÈVRES /MANUFACTURE NATIONALE FRANCE' and painted ' b ' mark, the interior in quarter-veneered tulipwood banded in harewood, with a single shelf above nine-drawers flanked by green-stained érable columns, the reverse of the fall inset with a gilt-tooled tan leather writing surface, above two cupboard doors each inset with an oval conforming Sèvres plaque and enclosing eight tulipwood-veneered drawers, on conical feet, the gallery moulding and lockplate signed ' Krieger Paris ' 54 in. (137 cm.) high; 32 in. (81 cm.) wide; 16 in. (40.5 cm.) deep
