A FINE CASED PAIR OF KEN HUNT ENGRAVED 20-BORE SELF-OPENING SIDELOCK EJECTORS WITH EXTRA BARRELS BY J. PURDEY & SONS, AUDLEY HOUSE, SOUTH AUDLEY STREET, LONDON, ENGLAND, SERIAL NOS. 27853/4 With blacked nitro chopperlump barrels signed in full on the tubes and respectively numbered '1' and '2' in gold, bored approx. imp. cyl. and mod. choke, the extra barrels engraved '1' and bored approx. imp. cyl. and ¼ choke, 2¾in. (70mm) chambers, bright actions engraved with best acanthus foliage against a stippled ground and signed on each side 'J. PURDEY & SONS' and 'LONDON. ENGLAND' above and below the bar, the underside of each engraved with a differing vignette of a running hare, bright toplevers each engraved en suite and respectively numbered '1' and '2' in gold, manual safeties each with gold-inlaid 'SAFE', slightly swept locks each engraved with further foliage and a differing scene involving game birds, that on the No.1 gun respectively involving a brace of mallard on the right plate and a cock and two hen pheasants on the left, that on the No.2 gun respectively involving a brace of French partridge in flight on the right plate and a trio of English partridge in flight on the left, the plates of the No.1 gun each signed 'K.C. HUNT', swept well figured 13½in. stocks, chequered dark horn butt-plates, the underside of each stock with gold-inlaid initials 'F.W.', and rolled-edge trigger-guards each engraved en suite with the actions, in original fitted leather motor case with canvas outer with some accessories 27in. (68.6cm.) barrels, extra barrels 25in. (63.5cm.) 5lb. 9¾oz., 5lb. 9¼oz. with extra barrels (4)
