A Dagger ( Tanto ) in Aikuchi Mounts ( Koshirae ) Edo period (19th century), inscribed Yamashiro kuni Nishijin ju Umetada Myoju horimono dosaku The configuration shinogi-zukuri with iori-mune back, chu-gissaki point and saki-zori curvature, the omote side carved with bo-hi and the ura side with a dragon coiling around a Buddhist ken , the decoration extending down the tang on both sides; forging pattern itame with a suguha tempered edge and a small rounded tip with a small turnback; the tang ubu with two mekugi-ana and horizontal file marks Aikuchi koshirae comprising a scabbard designed with an elaborate winged dragon amidst clouds in two shades of gold lacquer and hirame , the kojiri , kurigata , koiguchi , and kozuka cast in silver with rain dragons among clouds; the tsuka mounted with silver fuchi-gashira matching the scabbard hardware and gold dragon menuki 10in.
