A collection of gentlemens travelling accessorieslate 19th/early 20th century comprising; A Victorian black leather despatch box by Wickwar & Co., London, with a brass carrying handle to the hinged side, the cover with inset brass handle and gilt-tooled with the Crown, Royal cypher of Queen Victoria and 'D. of L.', the interior stamped 'Wickwar & Co. / 6 Poland Street' and 'Manufacturers to HM Stat. Office'; A Napoleon III embossed black paper and wood case with a suede lined interior containing a brass chamberstick, with screw top to hollow cast cannister handle, the lid with carrying handles and with brass catches; An Edwardian leather dressing case, retailed by Asprey's, the cream leather interior fitted with five silver topped glass vessels, marked London, 1904, the tortoiseshell accessories including two rectangular containers, a cylindrical container, a handmirror, paperknife, hairbrush and clothes brush; a leather 'Gladstone' bag, the striped linen interior with an applied tooled leather label for Asprey (4)larger Gladstone bag: 33.5 by 35.5 by 25cm.; 1ft. 1 1/4 by 1ft. 2 by 10in.Condition reportAn interesting group which shows signs of wear and age. The lock mechanism of the dressing case is slightly warped and loose which makes it tricky to open. The fittings lack a comb (although its sleeve is present). The despatch box is good but with scuffs to extremeties. The chamberstick case with some losses to surface. Very charming. Losses to laquered surface of brass chamberstick. Gladstone bag good but mounts tarnished. Despatch box 14.5 by 46 by 30.5cm. Chamberstick box 10 by 36.5 by 20.5cm. Dressing case 16 by 30 by 24cm.
