A CASTELLI BERETTINO-GROUND ARMORIAL 'TURCHINO-WARE' DISH LATE 16TH CENTURY The centre painted in pale-blue and gilded with an escutcheon enclosing a shield, the well with four groupings of gilt foliage and fleur-de-lys and flowerheads, the border with a similar band of gilt flowerheads and fleur-de-lys divided by foliage (wear to gilding, small chip to reverse of rim, minute flaking to rim at 3 o'clock) 11¼ in. (28.5 cm.) diam.
