A CARVED BOXWOOD FIGURE OF GUANYIN QING DYNASTY, 18TH/19TH CENTURY The Bodhisattva is carved seated at ease in peaceful contemplation with one hand resting on her right bent knee, wearing loose voluminous robes parted slightly at the chest to reveal a bejewelled necklace. Her benevolent face is depicted with downcast eyes, the hair tied in a tall chignon under a veil, her urna inlaid with a seed pearl. Her right hand is separately carved and removable.
