A Calligraphic panel, attributed to Mozaffar ad-Din Shah Qajar, in Farsi, on paper [Qajar Persia (probably Isfahan), dated Saturday, 25th Safar 1319 AH (13 June 1901 AD)] single calligraphic panel, 9 lines of elegant black naskh, watercolour wash painting of Nasser ad-Din Shah at the top, gold floral vines enclosing the image and surrounding the text to fill the page, textblock ruled with black illuminated border, mounted on contemporary card, 320 by 214mm.; together with another calligraphic panel dated 1387 AH (1967 AD) from descendants of the Qajarieh family From the direct descendants of Nasser al-Din Shah Qajar, whose granddaughter was the present consignor's grandmother, and having passed by descent through that family since the early twentieth century. Although it bears no signature, the provenance of this piece strongly suggests the work is that of Mozaffar ad-Din Shah, the son of Nasser al-Din Shah Qajar.
