A BRONZE RITUAL TRIPOD FOOD VESSEL AND COVER, DING SPRING AND AUTUMN PERIOD, LATE 6TH-EARLY 5TH CENTURY BC The bulbous body raised on three short legs, the sides encircled by three narrow bands flat-cast with interlocking S-shaped dragons, the upper band interrupted by a pair of mask and loose ring handles, with two further dragon bands on the cover encircling a center medallion cast with a whorl motif, the outer band overlaid with three reclining bovines cast in the round, with mottled dark grey and bronze patina and malachite, ferrous and some azurite encrustation 10 in. (25.5 cm.) across handles
