A bronze figure of Saint Andal South India, Vijayanagara period, 16th century Standing in slight tribangha on a lotus base over a waisted plinth, her right hand raised in katakamudra and her left hanging at her side, dressed in an ankle-length dhoti tied at the waist with a fishtail knot, adorned with festooned jewelry elegantly draped over the shoulders, the face with elongated eyes and gently arched brows, the hair neatly parted and tied in a bun 17¼ in. (43.7 cm.) high
