A brass Indo-Persian celestial globe . Unsigned and undated. An unusual Islamic celestial, moulded in brass, diameter 6 inches (15cm.). The globe engraved with numerous stars and constellations, represented by mythical beasts and figures, many stars and constellations named, the surface engraved with lines of celestial longitude and latitude laid to the ecliptic poles (some light oxidisation of the surface). Iron axis pin, the south pole of the ecliptic pierced for mounting, unmounted.
