A BLUE AND WHITE DOUBLE-GOURD VASE MING DYNASTY, 16TH CENTURY The lower body of the vase is delicately painted with a lively scene of eight foreign tribute bearers holding precious items, with a band of pendant jewellery hanging above them. The waist is decorated with further precious emblems, and the upper body of the vase depicts two immortals seated on a crane and a phoenix, flying amongst scrolling clouds. 19¼ in. (49 cm.) high
