Each volume with a large decorative plate on the front pastedown from the Norfolk & Norwich Library, stating: "This book is part of the salvage from the fire which occurred on August 1st, 1898 (the volumes have no apparent fire damage). Dibdin's major work on English libraries and book collecting, his second "Bibliographical Tour", after his popular tour of France and Germany published in 1821. The present tour is of note for, among other features, the " . . . delightful account of an evening spent with golfers of St. Andrews." Lot Amendments Condition: Some wear to bindings with rubbing to extremities and joints, some scuffing and chipping to spine leather; browning to endpaper edges, light toning and scattered light foxing; very good.
