Brass handcover and brass fence. Brass lock of characteristic form with long brass serpent and mainspring held by a chrysanthemum. Sakai helmet at breech. Figured Japanese oak stock inlaid with chrysanthemums. Rabbit, prunus branch and shidori (birds). CONDITION: Bore is rough. Barrel has even age brown patina with some raised rust. Brass is good. Lock functions properly. Stock is good except for approximately 1/4" has been removed just behind the muzzle ring. A good Sakai matchlock.
