A 19th century Indian tulwar sword, featuring a slightly curved single-edged 80cm blade, mounted in a cast metal hilt. The hilt featuring extensive decoration, consisting of animals, including tigers, antelopes, elephants and birds, with one mythical humanoid character on the top of the unusual semi-circular side guard. Remnants of gilding to much of the surface of the hilt. Sword housed in a traditional and period wood and leather scabbard. Total length 94cm.
