A 19th-Century glazed brass compass, unsigned , probably originally from a mining dial -- 14cm. 5½in.) diameter The brass face has a finely engraved wind rose with eight compass points and graduations in four quadrants around the circumference. There is a second outer degree scale, raised and silvered, graduated 1-360°. There is a thin blued-iron needle and the casing is made from brass.
