A 1796 Pattern Infantry Officer's Sword, and an 1822 Pattern Infantry Officer's Sword The first by Prosser (late Cullum); the second by Nicholls The first with straight fullered J.J. Runkel blade bearing etched decoration including Royal Arms and 'GR' cypher (originally blued and gilt, some traces remaining), wire-wound grip, and cast gilt-brass hilt with urn pommel and one-piece boat-shell, in its gilt-mounted black leather scabbard (chape missing); the second with signed slightly curved fullered blade with remains of etched decoration (rust-stained with some minor pitting), regulation gilt-brass guard with hinged flap, bearing 'VR' cypher in the cartouche, and wire-bound fishskin-covered grip, in its black leather scabbard with gilt-brass mounts 32½in. (82.6cm.) and 32¼ in. (81.9cm.) blades (2)
