Beschreibung:

88 pp. Illustrated from photographs. 18x16 cm (7x6¼"), original red cloth, lettered in black, color pictorial dust jacket. First Edition. Rare, exceptional signature of Ted Ray in fountain pen with date (year only) on front free endpaper. Ray was a leading golf figure of the early 1900's, winning the Open Championship, the U.S. Open and serving as the inaugural Ryder Cup Captain. Ray signed the book in 1943, the year of his death. The author was well-qualified to pen a golf instruction book, as she once held both the British Ladies Amateur Championship and the U.S. Women's Amateur Championship simultaneously. The careful positioning of the photographs (clips from motion pictures) within the book, act as a unique swing sequence "flicker" feature and was the first moving picture book of its kind. Multiple relevant newspaper clippings included. D&J B7900.
