Beschreibung:

This quite exceptional example of Ferrari's first Pininfarina-styled V8 road car boasts the early version's corrosion-free glassfibre coachwork. Supplied new by Brandon Motors, then the official Ferrari dealer for Warwickshire, 'XLG 761R' enjoyed just one private owner up to 2002 and has covered a mere 7,000-or-so miles from new. The car is accompanied by a quite delightful letter (dated February 2002) from its nonagenarian owner documenting its history. Its owner enjoyed the 308's exhilarating performance and sure-footed handling on trips to the Lake District and North of England, but after two years and around 4,000 miles decided to preserve it in pristine condition rather than continue to expose it to Britain's often inclement weather and the cut-and-thrust of modern-day motoring. Occasional summer use on dry days only became the norm, explaining the low total mileage recorded. Acquired by the vendor in December 2002 and finished in Rosso Rubino with brown leather upholstery, the car is presented in excellent original condition throughout and enjoys the benefits of optional air conditioning and radio, confirmed by the accompanying original sales invoice as fitted from new. Tyres are original - unused spare included – and the car comes with its original toolkit and owner's wallet containing instruction manuals. It is offered with Swansea V5 and MoT to April 2004. Cheltenham Ferrari dealer Mortimer Houghton Turner's accompanying inspection report confirms this car's unique qualities, their on-file letter stating: "we had to look hard to come up with any faults of significance," and remarking: "this car has been preserved in an extraordinary original state." Their letter concludes: "Where else today can you buy an ultra low mileage, one owner, perfectly preserved car with the only notable defects reflecting the gentle process of ageing?"
