Anderson: n.p., 1865, featuring caption: "'I thought your Government was more magnanimous than to hunt down women and children;'" Francis Hacker, n.p., 1865; and one uncredited featuring caption: "Jeff Davis, / As He Appeared When Captured." Remaining CDVs include a reproduced illustration by Thomas Nast n.p., 1863, titled "The Domestic Blockade" featuring a woman brandishing a broom at two children, one of whom brandishes a sword while the other waves an American flag; and a full standing studio portrait of a Confederate officer identified as "Gen. Tilghman. / C.S.A." on verso. Lloyd Tilghman (1816-1863) enlisted as a colonel and was commissioned into the Kentucky 3rd Infantry Regiment on July 5, 1861. That October, he was promoted to brigadier general in the CSA and was later chosen to construct defensive works at Forts Henry and Donelson. Notably, Tilghman was forced to surrender Fort Henry to Union forces under General Grant. Tilghman was imprisoned at Fort Warren in Boston, and upon his release in August of 1862, he took command under Mansfield Lovell in Earl Van Dorn's Army of the West. During the Vicksburg Campaign the following year, Tilghman was fatally shot at the Battle of Champion Hill in Mississippi.
