2000 Porsche Boxster S Lot Number109 RegistrationJ900 BOX Chassis NumberWPOZZZ98ZIU640683 Engine Number67102084 Odometer reading86,000 miles EstimateNo Reserve Print details Send this to a friend Good service history Includes cherished plate Desirable manual transmission DUE TO CIRCUMSTANCES BEYOND OUR CONTROL, THIS LOT HAS BEEN WITHDRAWN FROM THE AUCTION The first-generation Boxster (the 986) was introduced in late 1996; it was powered by a 2.5 litre flat six-cylinder engine. Harm Lagaay's design, inspired by the 356 Speedster and 550 Spyder, stimulated a commercial turnaround for Porsche. Many believe the introduction of the Boxster helped save Porsche from acquisition. It was Porsche's first water-cooled non-front engine. In the Boxster, it is placed mid-engine. The mid-engine layout provides a low centre of gravity, near-perfect weight distribution and neutral handling. In 2000, the new Boxster S variant was introduced with a larger 3.2 litre engine. This attractive second generation 3.2 Boxster S was registered in October 2000 and presents extremely well in Dark Blue metallic with a blue hood and a contrasting Savannah leather interior. The enthusiast engineer owner tells us that this Porsche has been maintained regardless of cost. Works completed under his tenure include a new IMS bearing, new radiators, new brake discs and pads, four new tyres and the refurbishment of all four alloy wheels. The file for this handsome convertible contains an original service book, various bills and receipts, a V5C registration document and a valid MoT test certificate. Presented to auction without reserve, this Porsche would be ideal for top-down summer fun. Please note these are library images of a Porsche Boxster and images of the actual car will be added in due course
