Although relative newcomers to the tuning scene - the company was founded in 1987 - the German firm of TechArt has established itself as one of the world's leading Porsche specialists and is one of the few officially recognised by the factory. The Stuttgart-based company offers complete tuning conversions for the Porsche 911 (types 964, 993 and 996) and Boxster, including aerodynamic body kits, customised interiors, larger wheels and upgraded suspension as well as all the usual engine performance enhancements. TechArt's basic package for the 993 incorporates engine, transmission, suspension, brake and aerodynamic improvements. Power is increased by 20bhp (from the stock 272) but for the Porsche enthusiast with an appetite for even greater performance TechArt created the fabulous 'CT3' powered by a supercharged and bored-out 3.8-litre engine producing a staggering 462bhp. This Porsche 911 993 was supplied new to Barcelona in March 1997 and in July that same year (at 2,400 kilometres) was sent to TechArt for the full 'CT3' conversion, as detailed in the accompanying invoice for DM149,665. The car was acquired by the present (second) owner in November 1998 (at 4,000 kilometres) and currently displays a total of c.50,000 kilometres on the odometer. Finished in black with graphite leather interior, it has seen no track use, is accident-free and presented in excellent, 'as new' condition in every department. Last serviced 4,000 kilometres ago, this 'ultimate' 911 is offered with complete service history, tool kit, owner's wallet containing instruction and service books, valid roadworthiness certificate and Monaco Carte Grise. Local import taxes will be liable if the car remains in the EU.
