Beschreibung:

The Ferrari 348 entered production in 1989, replacing the much loved 308/328GTB/GTS. Pininfarina had created a new design on a new chassis that was torsionally superior and dimensionally more accurate than before. Mid-engined like its predecessor, the title 348tb signified a larger 3.4-litre V8 engine while ‘t’ stood for ‘tranversale’ to describe how the new 5-speed gearbox was positioned across the chassis. The dry-sump engine was now mounted longitudinally, allowing it to be positioned lower in the chassis, this arrangement having been tried successfully in the F1 Ferrari 312T. The front suspension incorporated ‘anti-dive’ and the 17" wheels housed large ventilated discs, which together with aluminium calipers, ABS and servo assistance, provided excellent stopping power. Weight was now concentrated within the wheelbase, thereby offering improved roadholding. With skirts, spoilers, minimal overhangs and distinctive gill slats feeding air to side mounted radiators, the 348 looked very much like a Testarossa, and with 300bhp, 60mph in 5.6 seconds and a top speed of 171mph, it gave little away to its 181mph larger sibling. In Rosso Corsa with all black leather, red carpets and Ferrari overmats, this immaculate left-hand drive 348 with air conditioning registers just 50,245 kms (31,403 miles) with no evidence of previous cigarette smoking to the spotless interior. Supplied to Ferrari agents Motor SPA in Bologna and first registered on 20th January 1993, Ferrari service history is recorded at Motor SRL in Modena, the car moving to Germany by 1997 and serviced by agents Auto Becker of Dusseldorf, at which point the car was purchased by the vendor. On his return to the UK in May 2000, the car was then registered at Swansea, covering only 11668kms (7292 miles) since. Complete with Blaupunkt Lausanne CD30 4x40w CD player, a recent set of Bridgestone ZR17 tyres have been fitted. Described in all-round excellent order, this fine Ferrari comes with Swansea V5 and new MoT.
