1992 Daimler Daimler Double-Six (Series III) Lot Number129 RegistrationUK Registered Chassis NumberSAJDDALW3CM485608 Engine Number7P0662775C Odometer reading30,498 miles Estimate£14,000 - £18,000 ResultSold - £15,120 Print details Send this to a friend 5 more images The Series III, the final derivative of the Daimler Double-Six, arrived in 1979 and was the flagship car in the Daimler line. No other car of that period epitomised brisk luxury travel like a Daimler and in such a truly understated British fashion. This car was not concerned with the pomp and showmanship of a Rolls-Royce, it was a Daimler and it meant business. Supplied new by Jaguar Cars Ltd this original home market example was delivered to its first owner on 1st April 1992. Presented in wonderful order throughout, the cabin area is exquisite, and the walnut dashboard and seats present in excellent condition. The paintwork and underside are also in excellent order and show very little sign of age; likewise the engine bay. The vendor reports that when you fire up the V12 engine it runs and drives as it should and is a smooth and enjoyable ride. This excellent example comes with a sizeable file detailing its history from new. The original Jaguar book pack with service and maintenance booklets are present and a total of 21 service stamps are recorded in the service booklet, all undertaken by marque specialists and accompanied by a huge amount of maintenance bills and invoices. Many old MoT test certificates are also included as well as the current UK V5C registration document. Showing 3 former keepers (the first of which was the supplying dealer) from new this example has been owned by the current vendor for six years and has been treated to a no expense spared maintenance program during his tenure costing over £10,000. Showing just 30,498 miles on the odometer, this Double-Six is used occasionally and dry stored as part of the vendor’s private collection, we believe this example is one of the best available on the market today and we are sure it will bring huge amounts of fun for the new owner. Interested parties should note that the current registration number ‘ROB 388R’ is being retained by the current vendor and a new age related registration number will be issued.
