Beschreibung:

New Mohair hood £19,000 expenditure between 2004 and 2007 The Jaguar XJS was a luxury grand tourer produced from 1975 through to 1996 and replaced the E-Type. Although it never had quite the same sporting image, the XJS was actually more aerodynamic with the last one being produced on 4th April 1996; at that stage 115,413 had been manufactured during a 21 year production life. Power came from the Jaguar V12 petrol engine with a choice of a manual or automatic transmission but the manual gearbox was soon dropped. V12 engined cars were unusual at the time with notable exceptions coming from Italian luxury sports car makers Lamborghini and Ferrari. The specifications of the XJS compared well with both Italian cars; it was able to accelerate to 60mph in 7.6 seconds and had a top speed of 143mph. This XJS convertible is offered in Arctic blue with a deep blue Mohair hood and contrasting beige leather trim. Between 2004 and 2007 this example was treated to a comprehensive set of works and a cosmetic restoration, bills for which can be found within the history file from independent Jaguar specialists TS Cars, totalling over £19,000. Since 2005 the car has covered less than 1,000 miles with the then vendor not quite completing his project, we believe this was due to ill health. Recently a new hood has been fitted however we are told that the hood mechanism is currently only working manually. The car is presented with an MoT certificate valid until August 2018, proving this is a fully roadworthy example and thus with a little cosmetic TLC will be a stunning XJS convertible. The history file contains the aforementioned invoices, a V5C registration document and old MoT test certificates. Offered without reserve, this is an ideal car to finish to a lovely standard and enjoy for many years to come.
