Beschreibung:

The Jaguar XJ-S was a luxury grand tourer produced from 1975 to 1996 and replaced the E-Type. Although it never had quite the same sporting image, the XJ-S was a competent grand tourer and actually more aerodynamic than the E-Type. The last one was produced on the 4th April 1996 and at that stage 115,413 examples had been produced over a 21 year period. Originally, power came from the Jaguar V12 petrol engine with a choice of a manual or automatic transmission although the manual was soon dropped. The V12 engined cars were unusual at the time with notable exceptions coming from Italian luxury sports car makers Lamborghini and Ferrari. The specifications compared well with both Italian cars as it was able to accelerate to 60mph in 7.6 seconds and had a top speed of 143mph. From July 1981, it received the new High-Efficiency engine for much better economy; as a by-product, power was increased to 295bhp. At the same time, the XJ-S received changes to its exterior and interior with chrome inserts on the upper part of the bumpers and wood inserts on dashboard and door cappings. This XJ-S was originally registered on 1st April 1988 and benefits from having the silky smooth 5343cc, V12 engine. Described by the vendor as being "effortless" to drive and enjoying the usual Jaguar refinements such as leather trim, air conditioning, heated seats and anti-lock brakes, it is finished in Arctic blue with saville grey trim. Aesthetically, the E287BKM is enhanced by having American specification headlamps and is supplied with a V5 registration document together with a current MoT test certificate. Offered at no reserve, this Jaguar XJ-S coupé could prove to be a real bargain.
