Beschreibung:

Since the World Superbike Championship's inception in 1988, Ducati has won more titles than all other manufacturers combined – the impressive tally is 313 individual race wins and 17 championships to date. The bike that started that string was the 851, powered by Ducati's new "Desmoquattro" V-twin, so called for its desmodromic valvetrain and four valves per cylinder. Engineer Massimo Bordi was influenced by both Cosworth and Ferrari in designing the engine that would take the company into the future, which also incorporated liquid-cooling and fuel-injection, a first for Ducati. The limited-edition Tricolore, striking in its red, white and green bodywork, was a higher-spec homologation special as required by World Superbike regulations. Some were indeed further modified for the racetrack, while others sprouted license plates and took to the street. As with many of the Silverman machines, this bike was serviced by marque specialists AMS Ducati Dallas, with receipts for work included in the sale. The immaculate Silverman Tricolore represents an exciting opportunity to acquire an example of one of the 1980s most charismatic sportbikes.
