Beschreibung:

Mercedes-Benz has been producing an SL (Sport Leicht) since 1954. The R107 and C107 models are versions of the SL which were produced by Mercedes-Benz from 1971 through 1989; the second longest single series ever produced by the manufacturer, after the G-Class. Offered today is the 3.0 litre straight six engined R107 300SL which is in remarkable condition; in fact, the coachwork, chromework and majority of the paint are all original with the undersides well protected with wax. A history file includes a record of all the owners since new, copies of the log books and transfer records as well as a Mercedes-Benz document wallet with user manual. We are informed that this Mercedes-Benz has a full history although, sadly, this record has been mislaid. It is hoped that this record will be found by the time of the sale. An inspection of the car however, together with its history available, suggests that the car has been well looked after and the mileage correct. All the MoT test certificates are present since 1999 when the odometer showed 43,661 miles, so this 300SL has only covered approximately 11,000 miles in 15 years. In fact, the car was owned and displayed at Paton's of Cumbria, a Mercedes-Benz dealership (photo record within the file) from 1992 to 2002, before it was transferred into the proprietor's name, Robert Paton, who took ownership until 2004. This Mercedes-Benz benefits from the selectable automatic gearbox with 'standard' and 'economy' options. The car also features the optional hardtop complete with its stand when not in use. Recently an exhaust system and four new shock absorbers have been added. Complete with spare keys and a UK registration document, we are advised that the SL will also arrive at the sale with a fresh MoT test certificate. With the spring and summer to look forward to, a lucky new owner awaits this very smart and well cared for Mercedes-Benz 300SL which combines all the benefits of open top motoring with hard top comfort when required.
