Tasmin - 'The TVR for the 1980's' as the slogan reads.... The Tasmin was launched in 1980 to an expectant crowd and a generally warm welcome. The Tasmin signalled 'all change' for the Blackpool based sports car manufacturer as the car differed in almost every mechanical and technical detail to earlier TVR's. The Tasmin was designed for TVR by Oliver Winterbottom, an ex-jaguar stylist famous for the Lotus Elite and Eclat models of the 1970's. The Tasmin was the much anticipated successor to the well-appreciated Taimar of 1966 - 1967 and adopted some of its predecessors traits such as the hatchback rear allowing easier access to ample storage space. The hatchback allowed Oliver to design a full width glass panel in the tail of the car below the normal lift-up hatchback glass door. This added pane of glass gives the cabin a very light and airy feel. From the cockpit, the driver enjoys plenty of space, headroom and a surprisingly ergonomic driving set-up given this car was designed more than 30 years ago. The frontal aspect of the Tasmin is what is really strikes you about this car though. This car is in an usual Grey colour with contrasting red interior. On the exterior of the car, the badging is also completed in red and the large 'TVR' lettering across the bonnet makes an impressive statement for the car in front. This car has been meticulously cared for by its enthusiastic owner and has wanted for nothing in its life. The vendor is only the cars' second owner from 1987, and it has even been the subject of a Classic and Sports Car article by Alastair Clements in their September 2000 issue. Offered with V5 registration document, valid MOTtest certificate until the end of 2010, owners handbook and a comprehensive history file boasting extensive receipts from Harrogate Horseless Carriages, The TVR centre and Hillside Motors. Offered at No Reserve
