Beschreibung:

The Mercedes-Benz R107 and C107 were produced from 1971 through to 1989 being the second longest single series ever produced by Mercedes-Benz after the G-Class. They were sold under the SL and SLC model names with the R107 replacing the W113 SL-Class in 1972 which was in turn replaced by the R129 SL-Class in 1989. The SL variant was a two seater convertible/roadster with standard soft top and hardtop and optional folding seats for the rear bench. Volume production of the first SL, the 350SL, started in April 1971, alongside the last of the W113 cars. The SL Roadster has since become the epitome of what a luxury roadster should look like and can be found anywhere from Ashford to Antibes and indeed in every corner of the earth and wherever the jet-set congregate. This excellent 1984 Mercedes-Benz 280 SL is a very original pre-facelift 107 series and has only covered 53,000 miles from new. The car was supplied by Derwent Motors of Leeds and serviced by Mercedes-Benz main dealers in Yorkshire up until 40,000 miles in 2001. The servicing was then given to Mercedes-Benz specialists as the car was being used much less. There are 16 stamps in the original service book and this 280 SL has covered less than 10,000 miles since 2003. The car has recently been serviced and a new water pump and radiator fitted. Finished in thistle green metallic with matching hard top, original black soft top which is in excellent condition; it has a spotless mushroom sports-check cloth interior. It is supplied with a V5C registration document, an MoT test certificate which expires in October 2016, a complete handbook pack including the service book and a file containing invoices and old MoT test certificates going back to 2003. It is rare to find such a good example which has been looked after, fully maintained and still fitted with steel wheels and painted hub caps. A superb roadster which is ready to use and enjoy for the summer.
